Swiss Watch Exports Reached Record High In November

In November, Swiss watch exports hit record levels.  As we reported earlier this month, these figures were boosted by increased demand for Swiss watches for men and women in Asia.

Exports of watches produced by Swatch Group AG , Compagnie Financiere Richemont , as well as privately-owned brands like Rolex and Patek Philippe broke through the Swiss Franc’s billion barrier for the first time last month.

The watch industry federation now expects full year sales of Swiss watches to be about 19 billion Swiss Francs.  Further growth is expected for next year.

Exports to Hong Kong, the world’s largest market for Swiss watches, increased 37% to 485.4 million Swiss Francs.  The U.S, the third largest market for Swiss timepieces increased 6.1% in November.
